What could be better than this?

Tanner seems to be thriving with us. He was quiet at first, but who can blame him? The poor boy has been through so much, which is especially hard for someone so young. After about two weeks, however, he really seemed to open up. Now he’s constantly babbling and laughing. I couldn’t be happier.

I’m an early riser by nature--really, all of us are. This morning, I got up to take a long, hot shower. While I was in there, Trevor rallied the kids together. Lauren made me a card, and they procured some beautiful flowers from somewhere. They were so excited when I walked into the living room. Lauren ran up to me, grabbed my hand and pulled me to the couch where they presented me with the goodies.

In that moment, I had my two children around me, and my loving husband by my side. What could be better than this?

I am truly so fortunate to now have not one but two children to call my own. It made my Mother’s Day twice as good. I wouldn’t change this for anything.
