Welcome to the MacKay family, Tanner.

Today is a day of happiness. If you know me, you know that my family has been in the process of adopting my nephew. My sister has been going through some health issues and isn’t really equipped to take care of a young boy. He’s been staying with my mother, but it would be so difficult for her to be the mommy of a toddler again after so many years. Tanner is a real cutie, and he deserves stability.

We just got the official seal of approval that we have legal guardianship of Tanner. We couldn’t be more excited. He is such a sweet boy, and our hearts are already so full of love for him! Lauren is excited to be a big sister, and I know she’s going to do great. She has such a kind heart.

We already have a bedroom set up for him and ready to go! We painted the walls blue and got a bedspread with fire trucks on it (he really loves fire trucks). Putting together the bedroom made us all more excited about Tanner coming into our home.

A good friend of mine is a professional wedding photographer, and she has agreed to do portraits of our happy family for this occasion. I’m sure I will treasure the pictures forever.
