It’s sights like these that make me so proud to be a mom.
Lauren has always loved Easter. I’m not entirely sure why, but it has always seemed to be her favorite holiday, even more so than Christmas. She absolutely loves decorating eggs then hunting for them in the grass.
We went to a hunt put on by our church this year. They actually had several hunts, divided up by age group. Lauren was borderline, but somehow, she wound up in one of the younger groups. I was a little worried that she would mow through the younger children in her rush to collect candy-filled eggs, but the worry was for naught. She happily jumped from spot to spot, gathering eggs and helping the younger kids find some, too. One little boy, in particular, didn’t seem to understand the concept of putting eggs in the basket. He would pick up a couple, try to walk forward, and end up dropping half of them. When Lauren found him, she stuck by his side, alternating between picking up an egg and putting it in his basket and her own.
It’s sights like these that make me so proud to be a mom. Although she’s growing up fast, she’s doing so well. I couldn’t be happier to see my daughter being so kind to others.
